Simple Reminders for the Swine Flu Pandemic
STAY CALM! This is not a serious or dangerous health problem. It is
certainly no more dangerous than the regular flu. The deaths in Mexico
have to do with the poor health of the patients and the lack of
healthcare in general. There have been no deaths in the U.S.
The word PANDEMIC just means a new strain and spread of an infection and does not mean anything ominous or life-threatening.
No cases have been detected in Georgia, although this may change.
Go about your normal activities, there is no need to avoid friends, co-workers, or crowds.
WASH YOUR HANDS REGULARLY! This is always good advice. Soap and
water, or waterless hand cleanser before eating, after using the
restroom, after touching surfaces that many people touch (like
doorknobs), and after coughing or sneezing will decrease your risk of
many infections.
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze. And then, again, wash your hands.
If YOU are SICK, STAY HOME! When you are sick with flu or any other respiratory virus, you can infect others. STAY HOME!
Come see us if you think you have the FLU of any kind. Testing can confirm the diagnosis and allow proper treatment.
